04 HPDI 250 spark plug #

I wondering what spark plug to use in my 04 HPDI 250. I have BKR6E KU in motor. Looked on yamaha site and they showed #6. I remember seeing something on this but can't remember witch way they switched the #. Just bought boat used plugs are full of carbon and motor runs ruff.

Look in the pan of the motor with a flashlight. There should be a facory sticker with the plug number. A little hard to find.

My 04 HPDI runs the 6's but I think some ran the 7's in that model year and before.
My understanding is the 6's are hotter.

Run the Ringfree in the fuel.

Did the motor have the oil pump update done? If not get it done as it is a freebie.

If it does not have the 10 micron fuel filter on the boat before the fuel goes to the engine, add one.

Thanks for the info. Just bought boat used form dealer but they only had it a week, that dealer 300miles away. Got plugs form local Yamaha dealer he didn't know what model hpdi was in book I had to point that out. They are checking on oil pump info with yamaha.
Did you put fuewl filter just inline in hose?

My boat has 2 tanks so I put the filter after the tank selector valve (single line out) and before the pump bulb to the engine.
