Anyone ever used auto degreaser to clean boat carpet? Also curious if it will discolor a red brick driveway.

Carburetor cleaner will work, but test it to be sure it doesn't affect the carpet's color too.

Have to be very careful with some of that strong stuff as it will melt the glue that holds the carpet together. Skeeter

Shop the Walleye Central Directory. IT WORKS!

Yeah what Skeeter said ,also I know from exp. a very aggressive cleaner can break the bond the glue has holding the carpet to the floor leaving you with a bubble in the carpet

be careful

Thanks. I'm going to try enzyme carpet cleaner. Degreaser works great on the splash well, though.

I use TUFF STUFF.... It works well when I spill filling the oil tank. Spray it on.. let it foam up... and wipe or suck it up and whalla.... If the stain has been there for a while it may take a few applications but the stuff works great on boat and auto carpet. You can get it at most of the big store like Wally World and K-mapart.

Hope this helps!

I have a product called S-12 which is a spot remover but not really a product to be used as a carpet cleaner per say. For real tough grease on a carpet MPC works like nothing you have ever seen. Just one heck of a grease cutter. Skeeter

The marine dealership that I worked at used degreaser many times to clean stuborn carpet, spray, pressure wash and then vaccum.

Check your local hardware store for a product called "Tech" cleaner.
Comes in a white plastic bottle with a black cap.

Apply it to the stain, let it set for 15 minutes and blot up using a paper towel
or clean rag.

Might take a couple applications if the stain has been there awhile.

Works great for spilled pop and coffee stains.

My friend used WD-40 to get oil stain out of carpet. I looks like it worked.

Gasoline works very well to take out oil stains.

For the past 10 years I have used nothing but dish soap (dawn) on my boat carpet and it looks great.
Dish soap dissolves grease so it does a fantastic job. Something to consider since dish soap is usually readily available in every household.

I use "GOOP" hand Cleaner. Great de-greaser, mild, and rinses out easily.

The best stain remover
I have used is Dawn dish soap. Pour some on the stain, scrub it, and pressure wash. Safe, and cheap. Try it, you will like it.

Dawn definitely works well but if that doesnt do it use simply green. Its the best stuff i've ever used on grease in carpet.
