I've got a '96 Mercury 175 EFI that has been having some issues...Often when I attempt to get up on plane it bogs down...I have to play with the throttle several times before it takes off...Also when running WOT trimmed out for a period of time the motor will shut down...I can start it right back up, and take off, but it's getting annoying....No sensors go off, and it appears to be getting adequate water pressure...Any ideas?

A friend had the same issues with his 175EFI . It ended up being a throttle sensor. You might want to start threre.

i know this is an old thread but did you find out what the problem was? i had this happen to me this weekend on the water and scared the crap outta me....cruising along and then nothing. starts right back up and away we go...happened a few times in one day. no alarms , just dead, but starts right back up....confused....will check throttle sensor, this is a 2002 175 efi merc, anyone have any other suggestions?
