My Alumacraft Trophy 200 was totaled by the insurance company Friday. (Thank goodness) I know for a fact that I will not buy another tin boat. I have more or less narrowed it down to the 620 or the 209. What are the positive and negative for these boats. Has anyone driven, ridden in both? I will be mostly fishing the western basin of Lake Erie. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Ranger has been around for forty years and still will be there for you down the road also resale on a Ranger is the highest out there. They also have the safest boat out //go to the Ranger web and look for your self
Sounds like talk from someone that's never ridden in a Yar-Craft, Warrior, Skeeter, or Triton! They all have advantages and disadvantages no matter which one you choose, you simply need to sort out your critera for a boat and list whats most important to you to the least important and then you can began to choose which boat is right for you.

Full disclosure I own a 620. I looked at these two boats side by side. It was a tough decision. Ultimately, it came down to the fact that the fit and finish of the Ranger was better. Not a lot better, but you can just tell that it was really looked over before it left the plant and there are just some small things (the clean routing of the wiring was one issue that I recall) that were just done with more care in the Ranger. It would've been a harder decision, but there is a Ranger shop much closer to me than a YarCraft shop, and though I've never had to visit them, it's nice to know I don't have to drive across the state for service. You'll be happy with either.

My youngest brother has the 620 with a 225 merc. Great boat but I do not like how the back 2 seats are situated. At the same time I am not thrilled with the short ****pit of the Yarcraft 620 or the lack of dealers close to Northwest Ohio. I normally don't go out with more than 2 but when the perch are running I do have a full boat load of 4 people. I have ridden in both the Yarcraft and the Ranger and both are extremely nice boats. I was just attempting to get other individuals prospective about both boats.

They both ride nice, but the Yar rides better and earned the right to be called the dry one. If you are aways away from a Yar dealer it might be more convenient to go ranger. I doubt you will have issues with either one. I think its more likley to have motor issues and maybe your loyal to a motor brand and that can skew your decision. As for ****pit room check out the 2095 DCX that yar craft makes. It a little smaller than the 209 (`6 inches shorter and 2 inches narrower), but has more room in the back.

I fished in a the 209 last year and the ranger as a co angler. I liked the 209 better because of the extra room around the back deck floor area. When jigging in rougher water the ranger made me feel like I was to far from the edge of the boat when not standing on the back deck. I did not like how the extra storage came forward from the live wells. Just felt like I had more room to move around and work a couple of rods.

I agree with JT as far as the layout is concerned. I don't think you can make a bad choice though. The proximity of the dealership would be a huge factor for me.

I have rode in both and either is a great choice. For me it was the 209 TFX. Now I may be bias but the ride seems to be a bit better. Spearing wise and dryness. Has a great layout and a lot of room in the back yet plenty of storage. Storage under the consoles is great. Can't complain so far about this rig and my dealer and the boys up at Yar-Craft treated me well. Good Luck.

Same as Team Burbot. I have rode in both and just picked up a 209. I wanted something that smoother IMO and something with lots of storage yet not lose the pit depth I want. Wanted something a little deeper for my kids, although there isn't much between the two, the difference could mean alot. I also just like the layout better, didn't care for the storage in the back of the ranger but love the Yarcraft's.

Thank you all for the nice compliments.
The 209TFX has been another one of our popular boat for us this past season and we are anticipating a continuation of growth with this model. Last night our National Sales Manager Mr. Don Cary singed up Inland Marine in Aug Gres, MI. Inland Marine is a full line Mercury and Evinrude Dealer.
Don's Mission is "to bring dealers near you".
Thanks again,

Yarcraft is a smaller boat manufacture and with that said they seem to put a lot of craftsmanship in there boats when they are built. Ranger on the other hand will build the boat exactly the way you want it right down to the stripes in the trailer. Both of these boats have good hulls and ride great so that is not an issue. Ranger does make a good trailer and a trailer seems to be over looked sometimes when people buy a boat.
