My friend has a 08 lund 1825 explorer. For those that have one how far over from the center line did you mount your transducer? We put a X-27 on the boat and loose the singal at about 25 - 30 mph. We have moved it all around and still looses the depth. Any help would be great. Thanks
You should mount transducer a minimum of 12" to 18" from the outer prop diameter, on the right (Starboard) side of the boat. The bottom of the transducer needs to be 1/8" to 1/4" below the hull and the rear angleddown 1 to 2 degrees. You also need to make sure you don't mount the transducer in front of any hull surface that causes turbulance including steps, strakes, and even rivets. It's best to first install a transducer mounting board so you can change transducer locations without drilling multiple holes in the hull.

I like to mount them about 16-18" away from center. (About behind my bunk when on the trailer).
But hey, Drich... try raising it a little at a time.
I had to do that on my 2008 Explorer and in the end, it ended up looking too danged high to me...
but that is where it works.
