I want to switch over to a smaller unit. My 111hd has a LGC2000 puck. Will the new 27 which comes with a LGC3000 work ok with the 2000? If I need to switch out the 2000 for the 3000, will the present cable in place from the unit to the puck work? Is there and adapter? I hope I can just unhook the 111 and put in the 27. thanks for your help. Phil

Phil, my understanding is that there is no problem with this setup. The LCG2000 will power the new "Red" connector units fine that come with the LCG3000. You will just need the LEI pigtail that will go from your "blue" antenna harness to the "red" port on the head unit. Again, I have not done this but have had it explained to me by a few that seemed to know. I'm sure someone will correct me if wrong or validate if correct. Good luck, don't hear of many downsizing their sonars. Most that change seem to want to go the other way? Just to much bulk with the 111? just curious as I've been entertaining an upgrade..

Did you end up finding just the display unit for the lcx 27 or did you have to buy the whole unit. I only ask becasue I am looking to buy just the diplay unit for the 27 versus a whole new set up.

Yes you can buy just the 27c Display. Many places carry them.

As stated earlier, it will work just fine with the 2000 puck, you just need a wiring adapter to fit your plugs.

The unfortunate part is the adapter cost is @$100.

I stopped into Bass Pro in Columbia,Mo to see if they had the unit. They did have one. When I went back to their shop where they rig boats they where unable to tell me if the old transducer would also work with the newer unit. I should call Lowrance. I thought for sure that a place where they rig boats would know. The new transducer has a different angle. What I was hoping was that I could unplug the 111 at the dash and attach the 27 and go. They did have a connector for the gps puck for 20.00. I hoped to not have to rerig everything. Thanks for all the input. phil
