I'll be fishing the Chip in mid September, have never fished the flowage before. Can anyone give me some tips, places to try, places to stay away from, etc.
Thanks for your help.

Check out his web site. Probably the best guide on the chip.

Liz:

I've fished up there since the late 70's. Great musky waters. We have always stayed at Indian Trail. Get yourself a good hot spots map for the danger spots. But I've fished Big and Little Petes Bar and Church Bar. Across from a spot called Wagon Wheel, an island, there's a trough on Cranberry Bar that holds big active fish at times. Also, I caught a 24 pounder on Al's Bar ( at night ) which you can locate on a map. The Three Sisters, which are three islands in a row, also produce nice fish from time to time. Don't forget about the walleye there as well. It dooesn't get the pressure and produces nice fish. Smallies have been great as well. Fish the sand bars hard and fish the deep drops along the bars and you do fine.

Hope this helps.

Are the walleye back? we use to go to tiger musky resort in the early 70`s and fishing was graet for walleye, musky, bullhead etc. as the 70`s melted into the early 80`s you couldnt buy a walleye and the musky was only ok. we quit going by 1982. We did well around the bannana islands, two bannana shaped islands with alot of wood on the bottom between them. also most of the coves that were shallow 5 foot areas we did great locating musky with zappers the topwater lures you jerk and let rest- for some reason the fish loved slapping them but would rarely hook up. we`d then switch to spinners or other topwaters to get the hook.

good luck. i`m sure its all changed since I was there last.
