I am considering making a trip to Lorraine/Huron area for spring walleye fishing. I know nothing about this area other than its supposed to have outstanding walleye fishing. I am from Maryland and would appreciate any information concerning accomodations, guides launching areas, websites etc.

This is an excellent board to post questions. It is run by Jim Stedke, ETT to everyone here. He will be a great help to you.

Den at Sportsmans outpost will be a great help to you, too.

Sergeant D,
It depends on your definition of Spring.
The fishing in Lorain, Huron, Vermillion doesn't usually pick up until sometime in May. Before then you want to be farther West - fishing from the Port Clinton, Catawba Island, Marblehead area. The two websites that Perchjerker gave links for are great places for info. You will do yourself a favor by giving Denny Braun at the Sportsman's Outpost in Vermillion a call on 888 855-9032. We'll start fishing the Western Basin sometime in mid to late March weather permitting.
If you can reply back with when you are planning your trip and how many people, if you are bringing a boat, or are looking for a charter - we can give you some better recommendations. Is your preference to troll or to drift and cast/jig? How many days do you plan to fish?
Feel free to email if you wish or just post here and you'll get plenty of help.
Good Luck,
Steve Carlson
