Seems like a good concept if it actually works but IMO, a bit pricey.

Never saw them before. Not a bad idea, but, kinda expensive. Maybe I''ll just prop the cover open a tad.

I have them in my livewell. I used to get foam on top a lot of times. Must have been the bad gasses. I sure don't now. I was not sure about these either but figured I could always plug the hole with foam. They truly do work. Easy to put on as well. IMHO I think you would be happy with the product. Nels

Can these be opened or closed? Or are the always venting? Does water splash out of them when the livewell is full?

NO water splashes out at all. They are open all the time. I suppose one could plug from underneath with a hunk of that foam noodle stuff cut just right, if you wanted it closed at times. Just a thought. Nels

Or....on some brands... you automatically do the same thing with the overflows (being a straight shot) out the side the boat...like Lund Pro-Vs & Tyees.
