There has been a lot of questions about Pete Harsh on the board. I want to welcome Pete and and “The Griz” to the Ranger Boats team. We at Frankies are excited to have two of the best tiller fishermen on our Pro Staff.

I can understand Pete Harsh being on the pro team but the Griz. The Griz basically goes to two lake, Winnie and Millac and the river big deal. Pete who I have met is a guy I would sponser. He fishes hard and his record reflects it's and is personable and very marketable. He also fishes more then two lakes and a river and I always see him at all the boat shows.
Say What???????????

I can tell that you don't understand everything that you know about this fishing business. Get a clue.

Say What???????????
Your post makes no sense. When talking about any business I want people that that are visible and promote my product. Are you saying the Griz who is a guide on 2 lake and a river is more visible then Pete Harsh. Pete, who in my opinion put Warrior on the map and is at a lot of shows and is a major tourament winner and is sponsored by a lot more companies. You get a clue.........

When our dealership carried Warrior, Pete was a big asset, he worked very hard for them and us. The Griz is on Bear Facts and Fish tales most weeks and while he guides on 2 lakes, I would guess that he is one of the most "in demand" guides out there. He is regularly mentioned in In Fish articles and he does seem to have a HUGE following. To me, I would be nervous about sponsoring him. Warrior tried and he gave his boat back after a month and got another lund. The Griz knows what he wants and if it doesn't work, he doesn't seem to be afraid to say so. I respect that.

fish on, the cool thing about griz is exactly what you are kind of talking about. griz has made such a huge, positive contribution to the sport of walleye fishing; all while just going about his business very quietly. griz is a true walleye expert and he does have winnie, mille lacs and the river dialed in like a fine tuned watch.
if you wonder why the griz has decided to stick to the guiding; he has done that because he knows he can make a steady income doing what he loves. as opposed to being a touring pro. very few pros make more money than griz with their tournament winnings. it is not only about money, it is about doing what you love to do. believe me, griz loves fishing! one more thing to think about, griz spends many days a year with customers in his boat. ranger made a great decision to bring griz on board. he will continue to influence the publics buying decisions one walleye at a time! those of us that have been around this sport awhile realize the benefits of griz to ranger; someday you might understand. have a nice day.
Welcome to your new team. Finally we know what Pete is fishing out of. This is a surprise to see the Griz in a glass boat.

:D Way to go Griz and Pete hope you like the glass boats. I've know and watched the Griz catch fish and guide for the last 10 or 12 years. He is the best in my book,a quite lead by example guy. He catches walleye's for his client's on a daily basis. He doesn't just fish 6 tournaments a year with all the TV camera's and hoopla. No offense Pete.. Also I can Remember a few tournament's and kids programs that the Griz put a licken on everyone. P.S. I am not against fishing tournaments I live for them. I'm just trying to say that the Griz works harder than most of us and he knows walleye's.
My two cents worth. Pete an Griz Hope you both have a great 2002 season.. Reefrunner

Not real sure what "The Griz" has to promote for Ranger. I have seen him on the Mississippi and he is one of the most unfreindly people I have ever met. Never a wave, smile, or even a hello. What good is it to have someone promote a product if they do not have people skills. I guess Ranger will "Sponsor" anyone.

The Griz is Dick Grizinsky sp? a legendary guide here in Minnesota, lives in the St Paul area and is one heck of a fisherman. Although he specializes in Mille Lacs, Winnie, Misissippi and the St Croix, he can be found many other places. As far as people skills? hes terrific with the customers in his boat, and I see him at the shows in the Twin Cities area. Yes it will be hard to believe not seeing him in his black and Red ProV.

Hey RR, I fished with the Griz too! I will never forget it! ;) It was a real experience. I'd recommend him. You've got to give him a lot of credit for making his living from fishing! I do. Wow Griz in glass...again :)
Later,

Yea, how many guys would sit on the phone and talk about motors and fishing for about 30-45 min. with some guy he did not even know, after just getting off the lake for the day. That's what he did when I talked to him. Nice guy, but I can see your point about people skills. Time will tell.

Is it any surprise with the RCL Championship on the Miss. R. this year?

let's see, how many other non RCL fishing pros will make the RCL switch? perhaps a skeeter guy next? come on... let's speculate.

It's not an RCL issue, as the Griz fishes (fished!) out of a Pro V 1800.

What actually happened that led Pete to leave Warrior. Was there a falling out between Pete and the LaTours?

Peter is a registered professional fisherman. For him to make his living fishing, it's obvious he decided to fish not only the PWT but the RCL, too. He commented that he needed to get into a Genmar product and expects to win in excess of $200,000 between these two tournaments, this year. Good Luck Peter, Fish on..

Who cares? Not me! You people whining about the RCL are gettin pretty stale. The RCL is NOT going away! If you can't handle pro's changing boats tough load of Lutefisk to you! Grow up.
