Any opinions on the Crestliner 202 TS with 250HP Yam? Looking for a smooth dry walleye boat for the big lakes that can handle the waves.

Can't help you on the Yammi's, I have a TS202 w/ 225 ProXS.

The 202 is a smooth-riding boat. I have ridden in many tourney-style walleye boats, new and old, and very few ride smoother than a 202. To be honest, if you haven't been in one, you'll probably be a little surprised at how smooth it really is (I was). The 202 is in a completely different category, as far as ride, than ANY other Crestliner. Do not lump them all together. Not even the TS192.

Aside from how smooth it rides, it also handles large waves extremely well. It feels safer and more comfortable in big water than any walleye boat I've been in. Unless you really do something wrong (major driver error) you will NEVER spear a wave in a 202. I would, however, recommend splash guards as the transom sits a little low in the water. No problem w/ guards, but I could see a wave or two rolling over the transom w/out them.

As far as dryness...bring your rain gear! If you really want to stay dry in a 202, get a full windshield. I won't lie, it is not a very dry boat.

Good luck!

Thanks for the input. Looking at the full windshield option.
Would you compare the 202 TS with bubbles to a pro v for getting wet?

Yeah, pretty close to a Pro-V w/ Bubbles. The Pro-V might be a hair dryer, but not much. I would say the overall ride (smoothness + dryness) goes to the 202.

I muskie fish a lot out of my 202, or I would seriously consider installing the full windshield. The consoles are the same either way, so it is always an option.

If you look in the classified adds on this page you can find a couple for sale (I've been looking too).
