Had a Cabelas Guidewear bib for some years now. Great piece of kit.
In heavy prolonged rain though some water gets in through the zip.
I see BassPro are now doing bibs with waterproof YKK zips.

Anyone know if the latest Cabelas bibs use waterproof zips too?

I spent some time on the water witha a Canadian guide who has been using the new Guidewear with the waterproof zippers all year. He thought they was the greatest thing since sliced bread. He said the zippers hadn't leaked at all and he'd been out in some pretty heavy downpours. We were in one together one day and he was totally dry.

Not sure how old your guidewear is but the guidewear products I own work great. I have had it maybe five years.

Guess I have had the bib for 6 or 7 years now.
Really like it.
Just occasionally it lets in at the zip though. Seems to happen more if I am seated. Maybe rainwater is ponding slightly in my lap.
Thats why I was asking about waterproof zips. Do they work?

Yes, the latest Cabelas Guideware have water proof zippers. The newest ones don't have the velcro, just the waterproof zip. My only complaint is the jacket/parka zipper has to be perfect position to be zipped ( other words a pain to get started):D. The bibs its not a worry because you don't have to start them.

Look at the new Gore Tex bibs at Gander Mountain. They eliminate the leaky zipper issue altogether. There is a continuous piece of Gore Tex under the zipper. They look pretty nice.

I have had the Guideware for probably 5-6 years now and been out in some heavy rain and never had a leak. I consider purchasing Guideware one of the best investments I have ever made in fishing/hunting gear. The only regret is that I waited so long to get a quality set of rain gear.

I bought a set last fall and used them during the winter snows and the spring rains and no leaks at all and the zippers do look like they are waterproof.
They are a little heavy for the summer but the best rain gear I have ever bought.
