I received my Free Lakemaster 2008 Minnesota yesterday, my question is what color are those chips? It appears to be the same color as my 2006 chip. I thought they color coded them.

The 2008 model Lakemaster chip should be blue. The older ones are black.

Thanks, the one they sent me is blue. It has a burgundy color label on it like my 2006, that through me off.

Hmm, now you've got me wondering. The older ones are black with a red sticker. My "new" one is blue with a blue sticker with a picture of a northern hitting a crankbait. If any doubts find the list of new lakes with 1' increments that are suppose to be on the 2008 chip and scroll to it on the screen to see if they are trully in 1'. Great chip by the way, just wish I had more time to use it.

Now I'm confused, My boat is in for warranty work so I can't check my chip as my Lowrance is mounted in the dash. Can I check with my card reader? Mine again is a blue chip with the burgundy color and a guy holding a rod with a walleye on the end of it.

O.K. I finally got off the phone with lake master. Lowrance does all the Lake Master up-dating of older chips to a new model year. The sticker color does not necessary have any year connected to it, whether red or blue. The number on the 2008 package (108-220) is what determines the year. I will wait now until the rig gets back to pop the chip in and see if the correct chip is in the correct package.

The free chip was a promotional gift by Lowrance this spring if you had purchased one of their GPS units.

Looks like as always a day late or month short for the free chip.
