Is the dealer supposed to install the Suzuki tach that, according to the manual and according to Suzuki customer service will have the check engine and warning lights/indicators?

I just picked up a Tournament Sport with a Suzuki 150 and the tach doesn't have these indicator lights. I called Suzuki and they said the tach that comes with the motor should have them.

The dealer suggested the check engine and warning lights would be an add on - fit in a smaller hole in the dash. Not sure if I should scold my dealer or not - hope they didn't cheap out and avoid it 'cause it takes time to hook up the Suzuki tach.

Is it a Suzuki tach, or the one that came with the boat? If it's a Suzuki tach, when you turn the key to the "on" position there should be four warning lights that light up along the bottom of the gauge while the initial beep sounds...one or two seconds, then they'll turn off.

If this is not the case, then I'd say you got hosed. As far as the size of the hole (tach itself) it appears to be the standard size, certainly not smaller, than any other tach I've seen.

I have the alumacraft tach. It matches the brochures.
Wish I would have been thinking on my feat better at the dealer when I was reviewing what I wanted. Of course, at the time I didn't know Suzuki provided the dummy alerts on their tach. Of course, can't believe the dealer doesn't install the Suzuki tach or really suggest to people like me that aren't thinking straight that they better get one or the other as you really shouldn't be without the warning/check light guage now that I think about it.

The Suzuki tach comes with the motor. Go back to the dealer and tell him to put the right tach in. You already paid for it.
