I just spoke with Pete and he is is happy to announce that he will be running a Ranger tiller. Pete will do a wonderful job promoting Ranger tillers as he has always done a good job representing the tiller industry. We who have been with Pete wish him the best and look forward to watching his continued success in the tournement fishing and promotional industry. GO PETE!!!

ps look for Pete to have a little sparkle in his new boat for a change. (Look Good Go Fast!!)

Hey Pete,

Interesting to here from you.

Could I ask what motor choice you are going with on the 620T?

My guess from past discussions with you would be a 125 Merc.

I am very interested in your views.

Did you consider a 4 stroke?

Have you tested the 620t yet?

Thanks in advance, Pete.... Hope all is well with you!

pete, while being a regular contributor to this site it has become very apparent that some postings are done to stir the pot. i am not talking about any post done on this thread. i am just talking in general. keep in mind, with your personality and your way of dealing with things - it is very dangerous to make your posts when you are tired or irritated. be patient and keep in mind, there are alot of people reading these posts. be cool and try not to be like the kid in the mountain dew commercials. best of luck with your new ventures.

JEFF, I WILL BE USING A 125 MERCURY TILLER FOR 2002. IN THE PAST I RAN TWO OF THESE MOTORS. THE 125 TWO STROKE TROLLS WELL, HAS A GOOD HOLE SHOT, MID RANGE AND TOP END. IT ALSO IS FAIRLY ECONOMICAL TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN. RIGHT NOW THE 125 IS BARGAIN PRICED. MERCURY TO MY KNOWLEDGE, DOES NOT YET HAVE A TILLER KIT AVAIABLE FROM THE FACTORY FOR THEIR 115 4 STROKE. I HAVE TESTED THE 115 4 STROKE WITH A RETROFITED TILLER HANDLE. QUIET, TROLLS SMOOTHLY BUT TO0 FAST FOR ME, WEAK HOLE SHOT, MIDRANGE IS ONLY O.K., ABOVE 3800 RPM IT COMES ON STRONG. TOP END WAS WITHIN 1-2 MPH OF 125 TWO STROKE. FUEL CONSUMPTION WAS IMPRESSIVE! THE ENGINE WAS PROPPED TO RUN AT 6000-6100 WOT WITH TWO PEOPLE IN BOAT. VENTILATION HOLES DRILLED IN THE PROP MIGHT HAVE HELPED THE DISSAPOINTING HOLE SHOT. DID NOT GET TO TEST IT THAT WAY. I LIKED THE MOTOR,BUT STILL HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT HEAVY LOADS. YOU PUT THREE PEOPLE, FULL TANK OF FUEL, THE LIVEWELLS AND BAITWELLS FULL AND A FULL LOAD OF GEAR AND HOLE SHOT BECOMES CRITICAL IN ANY BOAT. ADD IN RUNNING IN ROUGH WATER AND A STRONG MID RANGE IS ALSO IMPORTANT FOR PROPER BOAT CONTROL. I PERSONALY LIKE THE QUICK RESPONSE OF A PROPERLY SET UP TWO STROKE. 2 AND 4 STROKES BOTH HAVE THEIR ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES. THAT IS WHERE INDIVIDUAL PREFERENCE SHOULD TAKE OVER. AS TO RUNNING A 620 TILLER YET I HAVE NOT. HOWEVER, I HAVE THOROUGHLY INSPECTED THE BOAT AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO DOING JUST THAT. I HAVE RELIED HEAVILY ON THE OPINIONS OF SOME VERY RESPECTED FRIENDS AND FISHERMAN, PAUL MEELEN, JOHN NELSON, SAM ANDERSON, MIKE MEYER AND AL SHOLTS. THESE PEOPLE HAVE SPENT CONSIDERABLE TIME FISHING IN THE RANGER 620 TILLER. I QUESTIONED THEM HARD AND THE REPORT CARD WAS GOOD. WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT FISHING STYLES AND FOR WHAT I DO, THE RANGER 620 TILLER WILL BE A GOOD FIT. HOPE THIS ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS. E-MAIL ME IF I CAN BE OF FURTHER HELP.
