I'm just getting serious about trolling this year and I'm having difficulty configuring my boat to suit my trolling needs. Ultimately, I would like to have a good set-up to run at least 6 rods. (Combination of dipsey's, lead core, in line planers, and flat lines)
Right now I have 4 Dubro Rod holders which are clamped to the front and rear gunrails. I am currently in the process of trying to set-up a trac type system of rod holders which would mount along the transom.
I recently ordered a multi-set rod holder from Tite-Loc Inc. which mounts into the rear pedistool base and folds out giving you 4 rod holders. I've thus found out that this particular design is total junk!!
It is cheaply manufactured, the ends are not permanantly secured or locked into place (They give you a rope to tie the ends down), the holders have adjustability in one direction only, the holders do not "lock" or "snap" into a fixed position, and on top of that it eliminates alot of rear deck space!
I would not reccomend this unit to anyone out there! The only reason I purchased this unit was to keep from drilling holes in my boat...
I would appreciate any information or insight from anyone currently using a similar, but better type of Trac Rod holder system.
My boat is a 1995 Ranger 690 if it is of any consolation. Thanks...

Yes there are rails on the sides of the boat. I have two on each side of the boat, one set up front and one set in the rear.
I would definetely like to see the pics of your set-up when you get a chance to post them!

There was really nothing on the market for Ranger boats or any walleye boats that want to put rail mount quality rod holders on the boat, the custom covers that come with these types of boat posed a pretty big issue with bulky mounts and like you I didn't want to drill in the boats glass, me and a few other guys worked with the guys at Cisco Fishing Systems and came up with a rail mount adapter so we can use a quality rod holder and take them off for when we want to put our cover on, it works by pulling a pin and the whole set of rod holders come over very easily for storage. There is no bette system to pull inline boards on a rail mount type system, I can pull dispey's off of these as well it just requries a little more reach if you like your dipsey rods a little more down to the water. They make cradle sytle holders as well for the corner rails with this same mount, I'm seeing more and more of these on the FLW tour guys boats since these came out. These rold holders have infinate adjustability either the angle of the holder vertically and horizontally, to move the whole holder you pull out and position it in the teeth found in the base.

I have the same system on my Ranger 1850 and they really work well. If you get them you will not be disappointed..:rockit:

I think those are about $275 a side, retail. I might be off a couple of bucks, but I'm pretty sure I'm close.
