Thinking about getting the Garmin 232. Thoughts please from owners of the 232 or other Garmin units with similar techology. Thanks

Just got mine this past week. I also got the Blue Chart chip (for Erie). Been studying the manual. Did alot of research before hand. Easy operation. Nice big screen (and alpha/numeric characters) for the space I had available. Lots on the board are recommending Garmin. Only drawback I see is that Garmin's units do not save locations as icons. Everything is saved as waypoints; something I think I can deal with. I'm looking forward getting on the water and using it.

That's the only "complaint" I have since going with the Garmin - everything being a "waypoint" instead of the ability to save "icons" while trolling when we get a hookup. I'm getting used to that so it is not a big deal.
