I am in the process of purchasing another spinning reel. I have narrowed my choices to either the Shimano Stradic or the new Johnny Morris Signature series spinning reel, which is featured on page 17 of the Bass Pro Angler's Catalog, Summer 2002. Any comments will be appreciated.

Go with the STradic, awesome reel made by an awesome company. Give it a try, you won't regret it.

Go with the Stradic. I have 2 and absolutely love them. I was ready to buy a Johnny Morris Signature last year and went to the Bass Pro store near my house to look at them. The salesman at the counter is a guy I have come to trust and he enters quite a few tournaments. I asked his opinion on the Johnny Morris and he immediately suggested I look at the Stradic. Here he works for Johnny Morris and suggests I look at another reel. I fell in love with the Stradic the moment I had the reel in my hand.
The JMSS reel has more bearings and it is easy to get wrapped up in that, but craftsmanship can not be beat and as soon as I had both reels in my hand, the decision was easy. Hands down, the Stradic. You will love it.
Have you looked at the New Endeur by Abu Garcia? Sweet reel for the money.
