I've got an 04 1900 IFS with the full top and it has the extra topset box mounted on the front of the normal rear deck. I've yet to use the topset and I don't care for the loss of floorspace (had another 1900 previously) that the top storage box causes. It looks like this is removable. Can it be done without taking the top off of the normal rear deck ? Has anyone attempted this ?? Is this a job for the dealer ??

Greg,
I've removed the entire rear livewell/storage compartment out of my Explorer, everything was just screwed together, never had to drill any rivets out. If you can reach the underside of the screws, they probably have nylock nuts on them. If you can't reach them from underneath, they are probably self-tapping. I'll bring my Sawzall to the GTG, we'll get that thing outta there!:smash:

I had an 05 1900 with the top and the top storage compartment. The top stayed in the garage but I liked the starage box for keeping tackle and an anchor.

So that's the boat you ended up with.
I like the topset box for additional storage, and leave the top at home like another posted. I'll have to look and see if they could be removed. I would imagine they are an add on.
