I'm looking for a cheap locator to mount on my bow mount trolling motor. I put the bow mount down and then troll from the back of my tiller boat. Using both the front and rear locators it's a little easier for me to follow contours. So what I need is a basic unit for depth only with a large screen that I can see from the rear of the boat.

Idea's?

Eagle Fishmark 320 black & white- I use this unit for exactly the purpose you describe. Current price $130-150.

Why does the locator have to be mounted at the bow? You can mount it anywhere you please.I have a tranducer on my bowmount and a locator on the bow and one on the gunwale near the back. The tranducer goes to a switchbox.I can now use either locator.Or you can use one locator and move it to suit your purpose.

I fish a lake with some steep structure. I find it's useful to know the depth under the bow and stern at the same time, especially when they can differ 3-5'.

I think what he is saying, is run the cable from the front trolling motor (transducer) to anywhere on the boat you want to. Then you can put the two side if you wish, not needing to strain to see the front of the boat.

I know what you are saying but I need it up front for Bass and Muskie. I need a big screen, I'm not going to move it around.

On my lowrance I can set the data overlay to read out in enormous size numbers if all you want is depth.

Make sure you get a dual frequency unit or on with a different frequency than the ducer on the back of the boat to eliminate interference
