I know some guys carry magic markers to add color or imitate a pattern that is working. Is anyone familiar with Dykem markers, for colorizing blades or cranks. Which is best? Thanks in advance, and tight lines.

We color our crankbait lips with Dykem... I believe it's available in blue and red. At Saginaw Bay last year we dyed our metalic Hot-N-Tots with the red, it drys real fast . On clear plastic lips, paint the lip white before applying the Dykem. Good fishing... Dave Randash

Dykem is a metal dye that machinists use when they blueprint the part they are machining. I guess it can be purchased at any machine shop supply company. This dye coats great in one coat, and dries to the touch in about a minute. As far as clear plastic lips on cranks, my buddy heard it could be doneafter first applying a base coat of silver or white, but I would speculate that if you are painting the lip anyway, why would you need the Dykem? I have only used the Dykem on the cranks with the metal lips. Hope this helps you out! Dave Randash
