Ok , I have given up on finding a portable GPS/Fishfinder. Im now looking for a regular unit and I will rig it up to be portable. I dont want to pay more than $500 for the unit. I want it to have an internal GPS antana. And I want to be able to get Canada maps for the unit. I have had the lawrance M68C suggested but I keep hearing Bad things about the new Lowrance units. I have used Eagle units for years and have been checking out the Fishelite 502C but I dont know if the Eagle units are having problems like the Lowrance units are. I have been looking at Humminbird but from what I can tell they dont have an internal antana. I have never been around a Garmin Fishfinder so I dont know any thing about them. I do have a Garmin GPS in my truck and I really like it. Anyone have have any suggestions? Thanks

I was contemplating the same as you. I spoke with a guy at Cabelas and Lowrance now makes a crossover land and marine GPS. Lowrance XOG. I'm kind of thinking that I will keep my fish graph and GPS separate. I think the XOG is around $200. The problem is that is for land vehicles and I as you have a Garmin for my Jeep.

Good Luck,

This unit will work in your boat. I have a Humminbird 585C that I ran in the classifides that might make a good portable unit for Canada. If you'd like mail me at rchasb@yahoo.com.
