Congratulations to the team of Jason Kopf and Mike Miller from Ohio for pulling off a tremendous season in their rookie year on the MWC Circuit by taking home the East Division Team of the Year Title. You guys had some great finishes this year and stayed consistant throughout the season. Great job! I know Craig Lewis down at Erie Outfitters is smiling knowing that two of his local fisherman and friends are bringing home the East Division title.
I would also like to congratulate Matt Davis and Dan Gies for their 2nd place finish in the MWC Challenge points race. The two of you had an excellent season thus far and finished the regular season strong. The teamwork and focus you bring with you to each event is shown in your outstanding season. I wish you well in the upcoming MWC Championship in October.

On the line at this tournament is the title of East Division Team of the Year. Jason Kopf of Avon Lake, OH and Mike Miller of Brunswick, OH currently hold the edge with 170 points earned so far. They are being chased by Tod Conner of Hopkins, MI and Mike Bringedahl of Twin Lakes, MI who stand in second place with 153 points. This is Kopf and Miller's first year on the circuit and they have had quite a year thus far. At Saginaw Bay in July, they came in 7th place and prior to that at Port Clinton in April, they came out victorious by less than 1/2 pound over the 2nd place team. While at that tournament, they set the MWC single day record weight by bringing in a basket of fish that weighed 48.95 lbs.
Jason Kopf shared this about his teams' season as he heads to Dunkirk, NY, "It's an overwhelming feeling to be in this position heading into the final tournament of the season in our first year fishing the MWC. Mike and I tied harnesses all winter long to get ready for these tournaments as we knew the competition we had to compete against was second to none. After winning the Port Clinton tournament, it has become an obsession to stay as focused and prepared as we can. We call each other several times a day to review tackle and set ups that we want to try next week. If we are able to hold on and come out on top, it will definitely be a dream come true for us."
