I was going to order a Rod Wrangler from Walleye central for $89.00 and now I can't find them anywhere. Did they go out of bussiness or change their name?
Got my rod wrangler thru Walleye Central just a couple of weeks ago, but now can't find it on the products page. The web site for rod wrangler is www.messengerboat.com but it doesn't seem to be working, getting a message about no permission to view the page. Try emailing Scott directly.
Kinda disappointed there wasn't any shut up and fish window stickers with my order! x(

Rod Wrangler went out of business, no explanations.
So, I removed all the order forms etc..

Anyone recommend something else? I was looking for their site yesterday. After talking to Punch, I decided to purchase one. Have to start the research over.

Maybe not as sturdy as the aluminum Rod Wrangler, but maybe more options. Cabela's has an 8-rod holder that also will hold 1 trolling rod & reel.

Check out the rod holder in Cabella's. Virtually identical - with the exception, that the rods don't lock in the base - unless you have the 3/4 inch pin - threaded base.
If you do have the wedge style, or the drop in style - and think that you might have a problem, with the holder dropping out in rough water - simply loosen one of the pedestal mounting screws, where you normally mount your rod holder, and attach an L bracket to it with a hole or two punched into it. Then take one of the stretchy bungy cords, and take a wrap around the base of the holder, and you won't run the risk of having the holder bounce out in rough water.
Basically, the holder itself is very similar to the rod holder style, and the cost is much less - $39.00
They come in base styles - for the lund - i.e. the wedge, the 1.77 drop in, the 2 1/4 drop in as well as the 3/4 inch pin base style.
In one respect they are bettern than the rod wrangler, because, they rods are up off the floor.
Also, you can take the entire mount inside, and if you have another mount mounted on a base in your rec room, or cabin - you can simply transport the rods to and from your cabin, without even taking them out of the rod holders.
Take care

punch1 The actual rod tubes are black plastic, similar to the tempress rod holders in black or white. The rest of the frame is black painted aluminum. They look good and work well.

When I called them about 2 weeks ago, they told me the vertical part was square aluminum tubing painted with a grey powder coating. But, because of posts on WC of concerns of calls not being returned, today I ordered the Cabela's rod holder mentioned in post #6 above.
