I find that E-Tech engine performance data can be displayed on a Lowrance product such as the 7200C by connecting the engine data cable to the buss per this thread from the E-Tech Owners Forum; http://forums.etecownersgroup.com/tool/post/barnaclebill/vpost?id=2922379 . This is an alternative to installing their I-Command guages at some $500 +/-. I'm wondering if the same possible with an Opti-Max? If so, it sure would beat the similar cost of smart guage installation.

My recall is that Mercury doesn't support NMEA 2000.

you're looking at about $225 for the Smartcraft SC1000 system monitor and the data cable. No need to get the tach and speedo, unless you also want to use the troll control (and other) features.
