No, The 135hp and 150hp were the good ones. It's the 200hp and 225 hp that you have to look out for.

Jarhead is right. I looked at this same issue REAL HARD when I bought my leftover 2002 150 Opti back in 2003 as a brand-spanking-new engine. I had several dealers whom I respect tell me the 135, 150, 175 series were bullet proof and never had problems. They also told me it was the 200 and 225 hp that had problems.
With a great deal of apprehension and trepidation, I bought my Opti.
It has been a good choice. 6 summers. ZERO problems. Put new plugs in last year (6 at $15 each -- which I bought new as spares when I bought the engine). Starts easy -- turn the key to run, count to 3 (so the computer determines what settings the engine needs), turn the key to start, and the engine starts EVERY time. Every time, without fail. Easy on gas and oil compared to a non-DFI 2 stroke.
Noisy, however. But that is the only thing I have found that I dislike and it is only a mild issue with me.
Don't let the problems associated with the 200 and 225 keep you from this engine if you are sure this engine has been properly cared for (by that I mean things like proper winterization was done, it doesn't have tons of hours on it, it hasn't been "beaten" by being run at full throttle every minute the boat has been on the water, etc.).
