I have a 200 optimax with a laser II prop and I am only getting 47 out of it. should I switch props or do I need to raise my motor a hole or two. I am on the second from the top. My dad had a 619 and he was getting 56 out of his, it was a 03 and he had a yamaha v-max on his. What is the difference between the laseer II and the tempest prop?
Thanks
What are your RPM's running?? That would be a start before any prop advice. Not familiar with all the MERC props, but I had an 02' 619 with a 200 Evinrude and you should be well into the 50's with that boat. Because of the 22" transom, raising the motor may be kind of risky, considering the motor has a 20" shaft on it. If your RPM's are low, then you can try a different prop. I had a 21 Rev 4 on mine, but not sure if that works for all setups.

The 21p Tempest Plus would be a much better prop for that boat. I did some testing with an '04 619 and found the Tempest was the fastest prop. The Rev4 is a very good prop as well, it was 1-2 mph slower than the Tempest but handled very well.
