Are they worth the extra money to install this tarp on my 2007 Lund ? Thanks

I think it's hard to beat the fit of a "custom", locally made cover, but by all means, have your cover-maker take advantage of the ProTrak snaps, rather than drilling holes in your hull for new snaps, or resorting to tie-down straps to the trailer. You can buy the little plastic inserts that fit the channel for next to nothing, and screw the male-half of the snap base in to them. Have him put the snaps every 12" or so, and you're done.

Would not trade my ProTrack cover for any out there. but my boat is a Tiller. And the cover fits perfect. Even after a 6 hour trip, The cover is still tight and keeps the rain and stuff out.
I can put it on my boat in 10 minutes by my self.

PS this is after 6 hours of traveling. And lots of 70 MPH driving.

They have gotten them dialed in pretty darn well.
I have had no issues the past few years ...but I do have a buddy with a 2008 20 Alaskan Tiller who has some problems with the Pro-Trak cover coming unsnapped.
That's the only one I know of, personally.

Lund covers are Great! ANd they cost about the same as any other custom made unit. I have had 2 of them and never any problems than one or two buttons comming out of the sport track system. I stopped by the dealer and they threw a few new snaps in in a few seconds. They fit great!

I've got one for a 1950 Tyee, wouldnt be without it. I can tarp by myself in 5 minutes, piece of cake, and fis like a glove, no broken snaps, keeps the rain out.....buy it, you'll love it!

I have a 1850 Tyee and decided not to go with the Lund Cover. Over all I thought it looked like decent material and would hold up. After having a cover on my old rebel come apart and having a custom cover made for that one. i went to custom and haven't looked back. My custom cover is better material than what i think lund uses and the fit is perfect. They used the pro track snaps and i couldnt be happier and have no regrets.

When mine starts getting a lot or wear on it. I think I will do like you. And take the old one and have a custom made one just like this one.
Only problem I have with mine. Is it has a bad spot when new. Dealer took pictures of it. And told me that Lund would replace it. I have not received the replacement one yet. But also not giving up on it.

I LOVE mine. I wouldn't have any other kind of tarp, it's worth every penny.

I did add a 3 pole system to mine, which maintains tension while travelling and ensures that rainwater can't pool on the tarp. I added two vents two which really help while travelling by equalizing air pressure, they also draw out the moisture, which is an added benefit.

I wouldn't be without it, it's some of the best money I've spent.

if you go with the custom snap cover have fiberglass bows not poles, believe me, if you are going to tow with your cover on the bows make a big difference. good fishing

Got any pics or a link?

I tow all the time with the 3 poles in place, and so far so good, but I'm always open to new ideas.

In my opinion the Lund canvas is not top quality. I would have a custom shop make one for you. The cost should be close, even if it is a little more it is worth it. You get what you pay for!

Lund tarps are made out of the "Top Gun" material (at least mine is).

Top Gun and Sunbrella are the industry standards, and would be the choices of any custom shop as well.

I had my Pro-Track cover installed on my 1800 Pro V Tiller before I picked it up from the dealer in Jun 2004. To date it has performed flawlessly and is still in perfect condition. I had a few snaps on the boat slide from tapping high docks but they are easily adjusted with a screwdriver. Totally satisified with the fit and quality.

I also have the Trailer Tux installed and it is fantastic for protecting my new paint job. I dealt with Bob at Trailer Tux by phone and email to get my Tux custom fitted for my spare tire mount on my Easy Loader trailer. He provided excellent customer service with next day shipping of my hardware.
