I found a used Minnkota Genesis, 74lb, Autopilot, and Universal Sonar with a 60" shaft. How much is something like that worth? What years did minnkota make them? Concerns?

I was also very much intrigued about the Genesis motors. Seemed like a great motor, but there must have been a good reason that MK discontinued them. It still is the only motor with automatic stow and deploy. A fantastic feature that I can't understand isn't offered on newer motors unless it is cost prohibitive. Some of the cons I hear are that the AP flakes out and it is nearly twice as heavy as other trolling motors.

You can find them used, just expect to pay anywhere from $500-$800 depending on condition and options. FWIW - I bit the bullet and bought a new MK v2 PD with AP and US2. With that comes a 3 year warranty and peace of mind that should something go wrong it is covered.

I found a Genesis fitting the bill for my application, I'm going to check it out Tuesday. It's a 74 lb thrust with a 60" shaft. It also has Autopilot and universal sonar. Any thing I should look for specifically?
