12 Volt Portable Battery Charger

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good portable 12v battery charger for use on a marine deep cycle battery?

The one I had gave up the ghost. While it was a number of years old, considering the number of times I used it (let's say 50 times, 8 hours or less each time over the last 2 years) I don't think it lasted that long.

what brand was it? I had a cheap one that lasted about the same as yours. The two schumaker's I've had for the last few years now seem to be bulletproof.

It was a Schumacher, I'm guessing about 8 years old. I originally bought it to use for a week with a rental boat, then it sat unused until I got my boat in April of '07.

It was one of those models that had a switch to go between car and marine batteries with a 50 amp car starting setting. Never had to use it for the cars.
