I need contacts who are experienced in putting in boat landings and docks. Our city has been charging landing fees for a year now and they want to spend money in upgrading our landings and installing docks. I would like to get as much information as I can to take back to the city council so they don't throw our money away. The city is Prairie du Chien which is right on the river. Any help with contacts would be greatly appreciated. Some day you may have an opportunity to use our landings and I would like that to be a pleasant experience for you.

Hey Steve,

I have built several boat ramps over the years at marina's and along shorelines. My best advice is to contact one of the hydrologists with your DNR to learn the rules first and what would work best under those river/current conditons. Either way, the project will go through them and/or the Corp of Enginers anyway. If you have any questions in regard to construction, let me know. I have to say though, I have not worked in a river, only big Mille Lacs.

Steve:
Thanks for your response. I'm trying to get ahold of somone in the corp to get me some answers. The DNR help us put a landing in our Marina. Paid an enormous price for a landing that can be only used at certain stages, ie. 8'-10'. Laning is almost worthless. The corp has put in landings all up and down the river and they appear to know what they are doing. Thanks again for your response. In case I would like to contact you with questions which would be the best way to do that? E-mail?
