Is there any chance we'll see a 200 opti pro xs over the winter. This would make my new boat/motor decision real easy this winter.
Thanx

TOPWATER,

Sorry for the delayed response. At this time, no, no plans for a 200 Pro XS. However, I can tell you that the 200 OptiMax is a "very strong" motor the way it is - and in fact, it would be awfully hard for us to squeeze more power out of it to make a true Pro XS (one of the main reasons we haven't done a 200 Pro XS).

I think its one of the best values out there -- extra hp over the decal without the extra $. If you want to see what I mean, check out our website and look at the comparisons section for the 200 OptiMax. A couple of years ago Bass and Walleye Mag did a shootout of bass boats all powered by 200s. Just look at how the "value-priced" 200 Opti stood up against the 200 ETEC HO and the 200 VMAX HPDI. Awesome "bang for the buck!".

Doesnt the XS run at a higher RPM and have a different gear case?

If so just imagine the smack down 200 XS would put on the competition, I a have 200 OPTI and it moves.:raisin:

Yes -- the 225 and 250 Pro XS have different gear cases - the TorqueMaster. The point I trying to make before is that the 200 Opti is already "maxed" out if you will in HP. While turning up the RPMs may give a little boost -- it wouldn't be enough to truly make it a Pro XS.

I appreciate all of the feedback and interest. Don't worry, we're always thinking of new products and to say that there will never be a 200 Pro XS isn't true -- but we have to find the right combination of things to make it stand out over today's standard 200 OptiMax.
