I had a little suprise today. My son Brian who was to fish the Walleye Anglers Trail tourney this weekend(at Spring Valley), called me from school about an hour ago. He had already gotten permission to leave Wednesday afternoon, and called me to say that there was a problem. He had just been told by his science teacher that they had rescheduled an important lab for Thursday and Friday. Now those of you who have met or fished against Brian know he is no dummy. But with the peer stuff, sports, and the rest of teenage stuff,(he just turned 16),he has been pushing very hard to make the honor roll. He was concerned after discussing it with his teacher that he would miss a lot by not participating and trying to make it up at a latter date. This particular teacher is very supportive of Brian's walleye pursuits, but was concerned enough to tell Brian that this was a very long and complicated experiment. So no Spring Valley. Needless to say Brian is on my Honor roll for making the right,(and very hard), decision. There is more to life than fishing!!!! Lawrence

Brian sure sounds like he measures up to be a real keeper.
It would be great for Brian to discuss mixing school with tournament fishing, with Sam Anderson.(see the pro page) Sam, one of THE best wallye fishing competitors out there, put in fours years of college, mixing in spring exams with the pressures of The PWT. Sam is a great role model for any up and coming, young fisherman.
Keep a tight line Brian!
