Our Governor has declared a state of emergency down here. This place has gone mad in the last 36 hours. They tell us that hurricane Ike has stopped the piping of fuel to the State. This has caused a price gouging law to go into effect with the Governor’s declaration of a state of emergency. They are warning unscrupulous businesses that are seeking to profit illegally at the expense of the people will be dealt with harshly. yeah right! Pay a thousand dollar fine after making $50 grand, I'd like some of that myself.

A co-worker called last night telling me there was a fight at a gas station because a guy wanted to fill his boat. Another citizen in line for fuel felt that with dwindling supplies of fuel a boat should not be allowed fuel. Now that's a tough one. If I didn't own a boat right now, I'd probably be jumping up and down hollering; yeah...knock his az out.

And I've been worrying about how to buy a new prop, how to buy rails for rod holders, side imaging sonar and a lot of other toy's to upgrade the rig.

If I fueled up today it would cost me over $300 for the boat and the truck and that would be gone come Monday, I can't justify that.

Maybe I need to start thinking about the possibility that this boat needs to find a new home.

:banghead:action..reaction...over reaction:banghead:

Maybe I should just stay home and have a bout with my best enemy, Jose Quervo :raisin:

Quit B.I. ITCHING about gas prices. Wait until after the hurricane is gone and then go fishing. I wouldn't fish in a hurricane anyways. If you sell your boat you can't be called angler anymore. That is not right!

LOL...I'm just being sarcastic and displaying my frustrations at how people react to what I fell is mostly media generated calamities.

Sell my boat, That was just a bad hair moment of thought. I'm working sixty hour a week now, I'll just have to find a way to scratch up a few more Ben Franklins for gas and sundries.
I can't quit, too much fun to worry about the money.

Gas is $3.55 per gallon for the 10% blend here. I hope I'm not gonna see those prices around here.

Your lucky !!!! Here in West Tn, The stations are out of gas... We had to stop at a few to find gas to fill back up today. Got out of the hospital this am. And man what was $3.39 Thursday morning at 4 am. Is not $4.99 and a sign on the pumps out of gas.
Felt lucky to find what we did. And I know there's no way I would try to fill my boat with stations running out.
But give it a week. And all will change.

I am so sorry I miss read your post. Please forgive me. I hate these things. It's hard to convey ones true feeling or demeanor from a keyboard from across the country.
I truly apologize, man.

I agree sometimes it is hard, you know the gas prices are not right but there is nothing you can do about it. It can be very frustrating. no one knows how far these gas prices are going or how long it will last. There are people on fixed income that are truly being hurt financially and emotionally. I know supply and demand, but how far does that idea float when oil companies are posting profits in the billions quarterly ?
where is all this oil they say has been found in North or South Dakota or in that area anyway. The news said there is 18 times the oil that Kuwaite has and 22 times the oil that Saudi Arabia has. If they did find that much oil why not use it and stop dealing with terrorists in the middle east
