Just got back from Canada with both tires missing the outside tread. Only have about 4,000 miles on them. Looking for replacements. Need some opinions on radial tires.

I am just about to buy the third set of tires(carlisles) since 2004. My trailer is an Shoreland'r(2004) and it just goes through the tires. I have wondered if the trailer was out of alignment, but I can't find anyone that can look at it.

Anyone have any suggestions for places around Twincities(North Metro)

I have been using carlisle trailer tires for years with no problems

if the trailer is eating tires on the outside tread then you have an alignment problem

I have a Shorelandr, the tires have lasted a long long time on it

have that trailer looked at

perch is right, check the wheel bearings and check the axle and spindles for being straight. sounds like it is toed in for some reason

Check the tire pressure. I was running mine at 35 lbs. And had that problem. Wen to the 55 lbs like it should have been. And not any problems again.
If you check most all boat trailer tires are rated at 50 to 55 lbs. And if you run them below that. The tires do what your did.

You can check the alignment your self. Take a tape measure and measure from out side of tire to outside of tire on the front , and then do the samething on the rear. The reading should be the same or within 1/8 of an inch. If it is not, then try to find someone who can straigten the axle. You might have to take it out of the trailer and take it to someone who is good with a press. Any good alignment shop should be able to straighten it on the trailer. As far as the carlisle tire go, they are the worse trailer tires out there IMO. Go with a good passeger car radial tire. I dont know why people thinik they have to have a trailer tire.

I had Andover Wheel & Frame align my trailer about five years ago.
Tires have wron much better since the alignment.

Rapid Sport had recommended them to me.

Thanks for the responses. Trailer is only a year old but I'll have it checked. Thanks.
