I recently bought a 05' boat and it has a maxxum pro with universal sonar. My question is how do i know what ducer is on it or what was even available at that time? For some reason the previous owner had another ducer (wide angle) mounted on it going to a lms 337c. I am just curious why this would be. I would like to run both the console lcx 110 and lms 337 at the same time but am told the same freq. ducers will cause interference and being older units they can not be setup to run off same ducer. with this inmind i am wondering if i can run a 83khz on the bow and 200khz on transom and avoid interference. Anybody with helpful insight would be appreciated.... thanks

I guess if you fish deep enough you might get interference. I run the same year Maxxum with build-in Trans, fishing 16FOW and below with on problem with the Console unit on.

I bought a new 05 ranger and put a maxxum pro with universal transducer on the bow coupled with the 332lms. Also a 332 lms on the console with a shoot thru hull transducer in the stern. I spent weeks trying to get the bow mount from throwing interference into the bow graph. Finally I mounted an external wide angle transducer on the electric and substituted this for the universal transducer - problem solved. Seems MinnKota eliminated an internal ground in the motor to save $ but created this problem. That may be why there is the external transducer. I can run both the bow and console graphs simultaneously without cross-talk.
