Which will give more bow lift? Raising my motor up one hole or lowering it one hole and trimming out more? I have a 2007 Lund Explorer 1700 tiller powered by a 75 HP Evinrude E-Tec. I'm in the second hole down and it seems like my bow dosen't come up high enough. Any thoughts?
Thanks to all for your input

it may be time to start experimenting with different props. Here's some interesting reading: http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/prop3.html

If you have an aluminum prop you will get very little bow lift no matter where you mount the engine.
Like HRG said... try some different SS props to see which one works best for you.
Then...after determining which prop.... you can move up a hole or two and get a bit better performance.

Take weight away from the bow and I guess thats the best you can do to a Alu Prop.....well.....at least for my case. Moved 140lbs to the back gain me Rpm and speed.

I forgot to mention, I'm running a Powertech Stainless OST (comp to BRP SST) 13.25 x 16. WOT is 5310 RPM and 38.5 MPH GPS. At WOT trimmed out the stern is pretty light and in calm water the handling is pretty snaky. Seems like it starts chine walking or the bow is not high enough.

According to this:http://www.henrysmith.com/powomc.htm the OST IS a stern-lifter. You may want to think about a raker-type prop, or the Powertech PTR series.
Of course, 38 & change out of a 75 on that hull ain't so bad.

Hot Runnr,
Thank's for the heads up on that. I think I'll be giving PowerTech a call.
What's your speed at WOT with that 75 Opti?

Don't know yet. In the spring, on it's maiden voyage, after break-in I saw 33(gps), but at only 4600rpm. Since then, I've dropped down to a 15" pitch prop, and raised the motor a hole (now in the 3rd, center hole). Got the rpm's up to 5700 or so, but I did not have my GPS with me. But man, it sounded great! I tend to have the opposite feeling of you, I felt that the rig was running very light on the bow, but I have a heavier motor, transom TM, and no bow mount TM. I had a cross breeze hit me that nearly spun the rig 90 degrees! Mid-October I'll be on the water in southern IL, so I plan on playing around a bit more.
