hey all,
I went down sunday did get a few, but as usual what a crowd!!
i just hate guys squeezing in all over you. i am going to get the boat out for saturday this week. never been in the pond with my boat. My question is. Is the north shore west end. the only place where the fish are at. i would think the whole pond is loaded. any suggestions, i would rather not crowd the shore guys either.
thanks for any info.
note: for any of you from the rochester area, do you know of another board with more local info on perch and walleye fishing. if not i was thinking of starting one. what are your thoughts, if you get me names an e-mails i will let you know when i start one,and send out some e-mails. i think it would be neat. my e-mail is kaplander@aol.com soon to change to roadrunner.

Hi Rick, I'm from Rochester and don't fish during the winter. I'm not aware of any other sites that deal with local perch and walleye fishing.

I assume on Sunday, you were just shore fishing from the north bank on Edgemere? You mentioned the crowds, I didn't realize that there were that many guys out this time of year. Of course, it was pretty warm early in the day, if I remember correctly.

Were most of them after perch or eyes?

By the way, do you fish the canal? Pretty good place for eyes, but no perch. I've fished the canal for ten years. Had eight good years, then it died the last two years. Another of the many great mysteries of fishing.

Good luck when you put your boat into the pond this weekend.

This time of year its all perch. iI was fishing from the shore on edgemere. I hate the crowds. Fishing is supposed to be relaxing if you know what i mean. The perch are there for sure, they weed thru alot of small ones, and lots of doubles, i do not catch alot like the other guys there,. because i jig for them, and usually only the bigger ones hit. i do not think the slobs came in yet, but the pond has got to be full of them. I had to leave early because these guys squeeze in right next to you, no consideration at all, two guys 4 poles 5 feet away sucks. well you should try it just get there early.
good fishin Rick

Rick, you didn't stay long enough Sunday morning. I was also there and when the wind switched, the entire shoreline was almost empty. It was real tough fishing into the wind but the fish were/are still there. As far as boat fishing, yes, the fish are all over but tend to congregate in the NW corner as that is the area that warms up first. The guys in the boats have not done so well yet but soon....very soon. If you're in the boat and after crappie, try the south end (by the Parkway) where the channel is. I know of no other web site that has walleye/perch info. It would be great to meet you sometime. I finaly met water_wolf last week and as all the WC folks I've met, he and his son are great guys.
