I'm wondering if anyone here fished the MN Walleye Trail last year in its inaugural season. If so, did you like it? Did they do a good job running it? Did they come to the table with everything they promised?

I enterd it on the last qualifier it was on lake buffalo.
The lake was bad but everything else went smooth it was a lot of fun.
The competition was good there seemed to be alot of guys that knew what they were doing.
I enterd the MWT again this year and am opptimistic on our chances.
From what I could tell the two guys running it were on the ball and had things well organized.
Let me know if you are in it and ill look for ya!

Hey nick were you the one that was looking for a partner?
You were right about the weather conditions the lake was almost up to boil.
I wore the paint off my spinner blades that day. All we could muster were big bullheads LOL!
We were one of the 45 out of 50 not to catch any eyes that day, oh well.
Ever tried silvia or twin? I catch some nice big walleyes every year when I troll at night.
I dont know if ill ever fish buffalo again ,but I wont argue with ya on its potential.

Are the prizes in cash or are they prizes worth the specified dollar amount? How many teams were in each event. Did the qualifiers fill up?

The two gentlemen running the tourney trail are class guys. They have their act together. I have not fished it, but I am going to be a sponsor of it this year. I am really looking forward to it. You can contact them at www.polebender.com with questions. Good luck to you and all competitors on the trail this year.

I fished the entire trail last year. The Millers run a great tournment trail. Everything that was promised was delivered. The prizes are all cash payouts. Most events were near full or full. This year they have made accomodations for 60 teams last year there were 50 teams. If you can still get in its a great time to fish tournments at a lower cost on Minnesota lakes close to home. I am from southern Minnesota. It worked out to Prefish either Friday and Saturday for Sunday. Home Sunday night and a Happy wife and kids!!!!!
Try it out.

Johnnierat,
I'm Tom Miller, my brother Jim and I own and operate the Minnesota Walleye Trail. First I would like to thank you for your interest in the MWT. Secondly the bad news, we filled up with all 60 touring teams on Feb 28th. However, we are looking for teams for the alternate list, as there always seems something happens to somebody so they have to withdraw before the season starts. If you would like to get on that list, please visit us at www.polebender.com and print off a entry form. We will not cash your check or credit card unless you get in.
Thanks to all those you said such nice things about us and the MWT. Guys and gals like you make it a fun summer.

I checked out the MN Walleye Trail this winter. I was especially intrigued with the Woman Lake stop on the trail. That is the lake I probably fish the most. The MN Walleye Trail looked like it was very well run. I decided against participating - because of me. I have never fished in a tournament before and I just don't think I'm ready. In fact I don't know if tournaments are for me at all. I'm worried my competitive juices would take over to the point of spoiling it for me - plus, I'm a novice. But that's just me. In future years, if I change my mind, the MN Walleye Trail looks like a great event to get started in.

Tourniments force me to fish harder and learn new techniques and is the primary reason I started fishing them.
Thw walleye trail is the first "Touring" tournament I will have fished.
Shure the competetive side wants to take over but your not in the PWT so you should be haveing fun.
I have never fished woman and am looking forward to this lake.
To nick,
On twin lake we use cordell walley divers and troll these evenings and at night with a fair amount of luck.
There are some big fish in silvia/twin.
