I just wanted to let everyone know about the superior service that I recently received from Humminbird.
I had downloaded the updates from the Humminbird website and then loaded them into my 2005 987c. For some reason, only the eloctronic gods know, the unit would not reboot. However the directions said not to shut off or interupt the download. After a few hours I knew something was not right. On Saturday,13th I sent an E-mail to Eddie Kendrikl at Humminbird. On Sunday I had an E-mail back saying that he was going to be out of town and to contact Joby Smith. I did this on Monday morning and the consensus was to send the unit to Humminbird for upgrades and rebooting. I over nighted the unit on Monday for delivery by noon on Tuesday. I received an E-mail back from Joby that he received the unit and would fix it that day and would overnight it back to me. On Wednesday I received the unit back from Humminbird. I put it in my boat and everything worked, he must know the electronic gods better than me, Where in this day and age could you get better service. I was looking at a new Lowrance but after this kind of service from Humminbird I will definently buy a new Humminbird unit.

If i've ever had a problem with my lowrance that couldn't be fixed over the phone I just have them send me a new unit via credit card they don't charge me plus they send me a packing lable to return the old one. I have it at my door step in 2 days. send the old one back in and its done. I didn't have to pay shipping on anything. so i would have to say service is about the same.

bet I get nuked......

He is thinking he would get nuked because of all the people not satified with Lowrance electronics and customer service. These boards are full of people (me included) that have had bad experiences with Lowrance.

I'm glad you had good luck with the bird. My next sonar/gps will be a humminbird too.
