I uncovered my 620 this afternoon and noticed a terrible gasoline odor in it. I've never noticed this before, it's an 08 model and has very low hours on it. Does anyone have any idea of what the problem could be?
Thanks Mark N

I have a 2003 620 and mine has gotten progressively worse over the last year. Three different Ranger dealers have looked at it and all say nothing is wrong. The odor in mine gets worse after fillup but is always present, primarily in the front lockers and bildge but no residue or smell in the bildge water. Any ideas would be very helpful.

Check out this link to a past discussion on this topic. Also check BassBoat Central. The gas odor is likely due to the permeablilty of your gas tank.

I had the problem with a strong fuel smell earlier this year when I would fill my '04 620. Checked everywhere and never found a leak but I did find that the screws on the sending units on the fuel tanks were somewhat loose so I tightened them down. I haven't had the fuel smell since so I'm assuming it was not loose enough for liquid to escape but enough for the vapors.
