Now that this model has been out for a while how are they holding up? Can they take a beating in big water like the 2025 Pro V's? Is one able to backtoll with the 175 or is this just a point A to Point B motor? Is the 175 too big to effectively fish with? Do they come pre-packaged from Lund with splash guards and trolling motor?

The hull is the same IPS2 as the Provs just alittle narrower.. Same thickness of aluminum. Same strakes. Just alittle diff on the width/lenght. I havent ever rode in a 20 ft pro guide, i have a 08 pro-v, but they should be just as tough, they are built to the same specs... Ya godda luv a big tiller:grin:

I ran a 2010 with a 175hp when they first built them for '07. In my opinion, these boats handle the water just as well as a Pro V (which I have also had the opportunity to run). For trolling purposes, I did a lot of backtrolling with a drift bag attached to the bow when I trolled with the 175, this slowed the rig down to about 2mph. I also had a Minnkota Vantage to take care of the really slow presentations. I believe the 2010's for '09 are rated for 200hp.

From what I remember, the dealer can order your boat with any motor, trolling motor set up you want. As far as splash guards are concerned, that would be a question for your dealer. I know they are not a standard part of the boat, rather an add-on.

Good Luck!
