Another PinPoint GPS ???

I ordered a PinPoint GPS module from Cabela's in January. Cabela's said it would be shipped ~mid-Feb. I just called today (3/4/02) & they said that they would not receive any at Cabela's until about Feb. 19. This might be another warning sign (check all the other cautionary posts on PinPoint on WC) about the stability and service from PinPoint.

To protect my dollars, I think I'm going to cancel my order with Cabela's for the GPS module. Any comments from other WC folks? Thanks.

I just called their consumer affairs number 920.929.5040 and was told not to look for them until the end of april or the beginning of may (maybe).

Here is a reply from an e-mail I had sent to reedsport. I didn't order from them yet.

I have had my 7420 graph sent in for repairs since Jan. 29th. I finally talked to a person from Pinpoint yesterday. Their response was that the part would not be in until sometime in April and it was an outside vendor issue and there was nothing they could do about it. How's that for customer service. I would think with three graphs and a trolling motor on my boat that something should be done to help me out such as a loner unit or replacement. They suggested that I take one of my other graphs off and hang it on the console while I was running. Not the answer I was looking for!!!
