I'm trying to remove an '07 Mercury control box from the panel in which it is attached to. I've stared at it for about an hour and I am clueless. The secret appears to be to remove the throttle handle first, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it without breaking something in the process. I know there must be something really simple to it.
Can anyone give me an idea on how it's done?
check the bottom side of the handle for a set screw. I believe that is what someone said in a previous post

I looked all over the unit and there is no set screw to be seen.
Thanks, though.

If you're trying to remove the remote control panel
put the control handle in the forword position
you can now pop the nuetral button out of the center of the handle
there's a nut inside that removes the handle
when the handle's removed you'll see three screw heads that removes the bezel.
After that, it's self explanetory
Good Luck
