Call Ranger and ask them.
Took your advise and called Ranger. They checked with there engineers that were involved in building that boat back in 1998.They looked at the current plate they have then checked the specs and blueprints from my boat and said it will work just fine as long as I use a tiller kicker. My boat has a built in drop back on the transom so linking the kicker to the main motor would cause problems due to the two motors not being in line with each other.I will honestly say Ranger has without any doubt the best customer service/support of any company that I have dealt with.Every time I have called there to get info on something they were just a pleasure to deal with. They truly seem to enjoy there job and being able to help you out.

That has also been my experience, top notch customer service in a timely manner.

Even with the offset you can fabricate a link bar to connect the two motors I prefer to set back and tiller steer for quicker response
