Here's the Mercury Performance bulletin on that boat with that motor
http://www.mercurymarine.com/look_deeper/boat_house_bulletin.php?ID=210&SortBy=Title&Section=outboardChecks&fourStroke75115=12

And here's the SS prop that Mercury (13 X 18) recommends on E-bay for 294

I have a Alumacraft 185 TP with a Yamaha 90 and I run a Mercury Vengeance 13 X 16
And top end avg. is 36 mph with a best of 37.8 with the current at 6000 rpm's
It's a good prop with a good bite
I wish I could run 40

I'mmmmm thinking you'd be happier with a 17" pitch Vengeance. Not too many guys on here with 18-footers, running 90's, can pull an 18" and are satisfied with the hole shot. Those test boats are probably pretty lightly loaded. Of course, if you tend to fish by yourself, without much gear, the 18 should do the job.

I agree with HRG. Those test boats are fresh and new. Most are not loaded down with three or four batteries, front and/or rear trolling motors, and the 200 more pounds of gear that typically ends up in the storage compartments. Go with the 17 pitch and maybe even consider a 15 or 16 pitch spare for those hot, humid, summer days and a full load of people on board.

I run a 15 pitch in the summer and a 17 pitch in the spring and fall.

I have a Honda stainless 17x13.25, looks like I need to go down to a 15 pitch. I don't know if a Honda prop & mercury are inter-changable? If they are give me a call (715-235-0504). The prop is off a 2007 Honda 90 tiller, perfect condition.

Mercury does not make a lot of performance propellers for small gear case motors. Call Power Tech or go their site www.ptprop.com They make great propellers for small gear case motors
