I want to glue the rings on to my Dipsy Divers. I know we discussed this last year but I can't find the thread. What type of glue works best. Was it Shoe Goo?

I believe rubber cement was recommended.

Any 2 part epoxy. I used JB Weld 3 yrs ago & they are still on tight.
Good luck!
Shoe goo, or goop, either one will do it, i think silicone caulking will work if the dipsy and ring is roughed up too. good luck and good fishin.

Den,
went out to home depot tonight and got some goop..also some stuff called "plasti-fuse" (made for plastics) by Super Glue Corp. gonna try some of each. will report back.

Den,
I visually checked my dipseys this morning that I had glued up last night. Both the Goop and the "plastifuse " seem to be holding equally well. Downside to the plastifuse is that it's not very cost effective. One tube will only do about 4 dipsey's. The Goop will probaly do a hundred. The goops a little bit messier in my opinion though and will require some cleanup the next day where the excess squeezes out.
Of course the ultimate test is in the water, and that's still at least a week away for me!
Thanks Mike, now there will be a run on shoe goop, lol. thats what i used on mine, and it worked. good luck and good fishin.

I used Dipsy's this year for the first time - I thought the loose ring issue was just something I was doing wrong, is there a reason they come from the factory unglued??
Just curious

Hi,
They come from the factory unglued so you can remove them if you want to fish shallower. However all you have to do is not let out as much line.If you don't glue them they come loose all the time and you can lose them when your trolling.Glue is good.

I have never had to use them and fish deep water of Erie (50'+). So, take them off and illiminate another mechanical problem.
