I am looking at buying a 7 or 7'6" spinning rod for rigging with long leaders. I was set on getting an Avid but I noticed that Reeds has Techna AV's for $110 off. So I could get a Techna AV for $169 or a Avid for $160. Which rod is better considering I can save $110 on the Techna. I have used both rods and liked them both. What are you guys'opinions on this.

I own both rods and either way you are buying a quality rod in my opinion. Personally though, I'd get the St. Croix. Not for any technical reasons, just personal choice. Either way, you'll love both rods.

I can tell you by experience that the AS76MLXF is a tremendous rigigng rod. I have noticed better hook up and detection because of that rod. Mostly what I like is that it has a soft tip that i can actually watch a bite but when i set the hook the rod loads up and never gives the fish any slack. Fenwick makes a nice product but why do you think the rods are discounted for more than half of their value. They didnt sell, they are also imported form overseas now.
