Just wondering if anybody has had any experience trying to troll plugs with the 150 Yamaha 4-stroke. Was curious to see how slow this motor would troll down to as far as mph. Any input or thoughts would be appreciated.

I have the same boat/motor. I can't remember the exact speed, I'm guessing 4 to 6 mph. I do recall it takes going in and out of gear to keep it in the 1 to 2 mph range.
I don't want to subject my motor to that kind of abuse so I troll with the MinnKota. In this boat that takes a lot of attention to hold direction in any wind and current. It pretty well takes a two man crew to run things when there's obstructions and tight quarters. I fish alone so it requires me to be a multitasker extraordinaire.

That seems fast for a 150 4 stroke. Certainly the prop, weight of the boat, and any variances in "idle adjustments"would be factors, but my 200 hp Mariner EFI's idle speed on my Champion Fishunter is 2.8 (I have a high five prop)

try a pair of trolling bags from amish outfitters rigged under the bow(from front cleat to front cleat)
this worked great on my yama 150 got around 1.3 to 1.4 gps
