View Full Version : Zercom LPG2000 Good or Bad
Bought a new boat now am trying to rig it. I am really interested in this unit but would like input (good or bad) about it. Would consider
something simular but want to stay in this price range. Found the unit at On Line Marine for $529.00 which includes speed, temp. and depth.
The other unit I was looking at was the Eagle Fishmark 240?

Good unit....but. The LPG2000 is discontinued. You have found one of the last few out there. I would pay no more than $399 right now. You can get the same unit, a Humminbird Legend 3000 for $499. Warranty and all.

I have the LPG 2000 and love it. The eagle you are looking at doesn't even compare to this unit. It has 3200 watts of power and a lot of vertical pixels; vertical pixels are the pixels that matter. I think it has 320 without looking at the specs. It is really easy to use with the knobs on it. I would suggest getting the Humminbird version of it to ensure full warranty. The Humminbird is the same as the LPG 2000 was. You'll be happy with the LPG, the only thing that compares is the Lowrance X-15, in my opinion it is a better unit than the X-85 Lowrance which I also own. Good Luck.

We've used the LPG 2000 for the last couple years, and have yet to find anything that compares to its quality. The closest thing,as in the previous post, is the Lowrance X-15. However, the 2000 does not require an engineering degree to operate. This is a very user-friendly unit, and can be easily operated with gloves on. As mentioned also in previous posts, Zercom is now being marketed under the Humminbird name. The LPG 2000 is now the Legend 3000. The 3000 is now a bit more powerful and gives temps in 1/10 of degrees; but otherwise is the same unit. You will be hard-pressed to find any other unit that gives the definition and detail of this one. We can watch an 1/8 oz jig on the screen(even with transducer shooting through the hull)You will be greatly impressed with this unit in all aspects, from its ease of operation to the clarity of the paper graph like images. If you need more information or a competitive price, you can contact my sponsor at www.everythingforboats.com tell them Sam sent you. Good Luck.
